There are three focal points to the Marriage 911 resources:

  1. To provide support and accountability for someone whose marriage is in crisis-even with an unwilling spouse.
  2. To equip pastors and lay leaders with tools, materials, and training for these couples in order to come alongside them in a way that will help all those involved to avoid the two most common mistakes: rescuing-and burning out, or avoidance-for lack of knowing what to do.
  3. To help the Christian community be prepared for a "first response" to someone whose marriage is in crisis (our new Marriage 911 division).

The International Center for Reconciling God's Way, Inc. (ICRGW) and the National Institute of Marriage (NIM) partnered to create Marriage 911 for couples or individuals in a crisis marriage who need help NOW. The newly revised Marriage 911 Workbook and Support Partner Handbook (formally titled Reconciling God's Way) provides support and accountability by giving the person who is in crisis marriage a 12-week workbook with 27 tools to help them make wise decisions and provide hope--even with an unwilling spouse. 

How does it work? The workbook includes a support partner handbook. The person whose marriage is in crisis uses the workbook, and they give the support partner handbook to a same-gender Christian friend to help hold them accountable for doing the lessons in the 12-week workbook. This is a great way for discipleship and mentoring to be made available for those struggling in their marriage. The support partner handbook equips the mentor in the area of avoiding burnout or rescuing, and if the support partner is married the tools that are shared can be used to strengthen an already healthy marriage.

The newly revised Marriage 911 Leader's Kit equips pastors and lay leaders to begin a ministry using the workbook. It comes with everything necessary to put the team in place and begin a 12-week class, plus a YES, YOUR MARRIAGE CAN BE SAVED book.
